The Aranha Dream

A few years ago the Aranhas had a dream. They dreamt of friends and guests living in the comfort and warmth of a home during their visits to the garden city of Bangalore. Their dream became a reality on the first of January 2002 when their first guest from the corporate world chose to live in the guest house built by the Aranhas above their own home in Domlur 2nd Stage, off Airport Road.

The idea of ‘feel at home’ guest houses or home-stays was rather new in those days. People patronised hotels which were expensive and to a large extent highly commercialized. It was an uphill task to rope in guests from the corporate sector and to make them enjoy the comfort and cuisine of a privately run guest house.

The Aranhas however, have succeeded beyond all reasonable expectations in playing host to a large number of guests and visitors. The secret of their success lies mainly in their utmost courtesy, comfort and hospitality. Within a short span of time they have set up seven guesthouses with over 40 rooms to address the hospitality needs visitors to the city.

Soon the Aranha network will consist of a more than a hundred rooms in all the important locations of the city of Bangalore like M.G. Road, Indiranagar, Victoria Layout and other places.

The Aranhas are committed to offering the same courtesy and comfort across their chain. The Aranhas welcome you to ‘live first class’.

ABOUT BANGALORE

Legend goes that King Veeraballa of Vijayanagara once lost his way in forest. Hungry and tired, he came upon a lone hut in the thick forest where he met an old woman.When he asked for food, she gave him baked beans ('Benda Kalu' in Karnataka).The King found this humble meal taste better than the richest fare.To commemorate this incident, he called the place "Benda Kalu Ooru"(place of baked beans). Bangalore Renamed As Bengaluru

Bangalore, according to state historians, got its name from Bendakalooru (the town of boiled beans). Bengalooru (or Bengaluru) is a transliteration of the original spelling.

AIRPORT TRANSFERS

The new airport in Bangalore is roughly 40 kilometres away from any of our guesthouses in Bangalore City. To help you get to our properties, below is an easy reference guide for you travel quickly and safely.

Please note that though we do provide our own vehicles for transfers on request, we also highly recommend the shuttle and cab service provided by the Bangalore Airport.

Do remember that should you need assistance at any point of time regarding availing a cab or the shuttle service, you may approach any staff member of Bengaluru International Airport. They will be happy to help you.

AIRPORT TAXI SERVICE

Meru Cabs and Easy Cabs are the two official taxi operators at the Bengaluru International Airport. They provide convenient, safe, easily accessible and cost effective travel in a standard air conditioned Sedan to passengers. Airport taxi service can be availed at the airport for travel to our guesthouses in Bangalore City.

Rates for Airport Taxi Service: Rs 15/- per kilometre, plus waiting charge @ Rs 60/- per hour

Approximate rate to any one of our guesthouse: 650 INR.

Please note:

Payment for the services should be made on the end of the journey in exchange for a printed electronic receipt, based on time and the distance travelled. Payment can be made in form of cash or credit card (all cars are equipped with credit card payment machine)

Directions to give the taxi:

Indiranagar guesthouses: Our guesthouse ‘The Haven’ & our Office is located in Domlur 2^nd Stage, near the Domlur bus stand. The building is directly opposite the Kalki Bhagwan Temple. Once you reach here, our staff will direct your taxi to any of the Indiranagar guesthouse you have made reservations at as all of them are just minutes away.

If you would like to reach your reserved guesthouse directly, you may print out a route map from the appropriate guesthouses page on our website or ask our front office to email it to you.

MG Road guesthouse (Trinity Grand): Direct the taxi to Trinity Circle on MG Road. Take a left at the circle, pass the Hotel Taj Residency and The Park Hotel on your left, cross the road at the signal, turn left just after Cholamandalam House (Opposite the Gurudwara) – and you’ve arrived!

Victoria Layout guesthouse (Royale Paalm Residency): Ask to be taken to Victoria Layout. At Hyderabad Biriyani Restaurant, take a left and you will see the guesthouse almost immediately on your left above Smart Line supermarket.

If you have any problems giving directions to the driver, you may call 09886692750 and have the driver speak to us. We will let him know exactly where to drop you off.  

AIRPORT SHUTTLE SERVICE

The airport shuttle service connects various locations in the city with the airport. This service provided by the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) ensures a comfortable travel by an air-conditioned Volvo bus at reasonable rates. Non air-conditioned services are also available at lower rates.

The service connects the airport with the city at a frequency of approximately 30 minutes.

To reach our guesthouses in Indiranagar (The Haven, Coorg Heritage, Salomaa, 5^th Avenue, Bluebell Retreat & Park Avenue):

Take a Volvo bus that travels on Route 3. Drop of point – Hotel Leela Palace. Any of our guesthouses in Indiranagar are less than 3 kilometers from this point. To reach our guesthouse in MG Road (Trinity Grand):

Take a Volvo bus that travels on Route 4. The Drop off point is a point on MG Road called Trinity Circle.

Our guesthouse Trinity Grand is a minutes’ walk from there. Pass the Hotel Taj Residency and The Park Hotel, cross the road at the signal, turn left just after Cholamandalam House (Opposite the Gurudwara) – and you’ve arrived!

Our guesthouse Royale Paalm Residency is less than 3 kilometers from this point. You may take an auto rickshaw or a taxi to the guesthouse from there. Ask to be taken to Victoria Layout. At Hyderabad Biriyani Restaurant, take a left and you will see the guesthouse almost immediately on your left above Smart Line supermarket.
